The highly anticipated finale had finally arrived, and all the Miss Tourism representatives beautifully put their best foot forward to compete for the ultimate title – Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015.
The Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International (MTQTY) 2015 World Final made its comeback to Malaysia after being hosted overseas in China in the previous edition. Held on 31st December 2015, at the Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, Grand Putrajaya Ballroom, the MTQTY Final saw 60 pageant queens from their respective countries take part in the glamorous and prestigious event.
Also marking the 21st Anniversary of MTQTY International since its inception in 1996, this home-grown title initiated by Tan Sri Datuk Danny Ooi, is now franchised to more than 80 countries. Over the years, this competition has brought together countries, whilst strongly and proudly promoting tourism, culture and friendship.
On the grand finale, more than 600 guests witnessed the crowning of MTQTY 2015. Walking away with the grand title and prize, Ms. Leren Mae Bautista of the Philippines was ultimately crowned Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International 2015/16. Her prize included – a full scholarship worth RM50,000.00 by Asia Metropolitan University, cash prize of RM10,000.00, a Crown, Sash and Trophy, Escada designers sunglasses worth RM1,600.00 by focus point, a hair products hamper worth RM800.00 by Schwarzkopf, an Omorose cosmetics stylish set and an eye massager by Gintell.
Announcing a Top 5, the additional Top 5 titles were awards to – Ms. Sheila Kirabo of Uganda for Miss Tourism Metropolitan International 2015/16, Ms. Irmina Presegalaviciute of Lithuania for Miss Tourism Global International 2015/16, Ms. Tanja Yr Astporstoddir of Iceland for Miss Tourism Cosmopolitan 2015/16 and Ms. Chandni Sharma of India for Dreamgirl of The Year International 2015/16.
Besides from the Top 5 Miss Tourism International Titles, there were also a total of 10 Subsidiary Titles that were awarded by Sponsors – Miss KL Sogo Trendsetter, Miss Focus Point Dazzling, Miss IDCC Congeniality, Miss Joyful KLIA, Miss GINTELL Wellness, Most Creative Selfie, Miss Tropicana, Miss Friendship, Best in National Costume and Best in Talent.
It was truly a special and commemorative evening for all, ending the year on a high, and bringing in the New Year with cheer and joy.
