Modern Monotone Bathrooms You Should Not Miss Out!

Modern bathrooms are taking on a simpler and more minimalist design route these days with monotone palettes, sleek features and glass walls.

Tile Style

The white backdrop of this bathroom is enhanced beautifully using two different set of tiles. To start off, an all-white brick-style wall sets the stage for a monotone ambience while the black-andwhite motifs bring on a decorative effect. Fittings are kept simple while a transparent glass partition that separates the shower area effectively opens up the space.

TIPS:
Brick effect tiles have become very popular over the last few years and can offer a variety of different looks. If you are going for a retro vibe, contrast the grout colour to the tile. You can also consider high gloss brick effect to inject a sense of futuristic modernity into the bathing space.

The use of white marble throughout all the visible surfaces in this bathroom is definitely an ambitious move, but because of the clean palette, it works out beautifully. The dark veins from the marble also naturally give the entire room a textural effect, creating an elegant ambience in a modern manner.

TIPS:
If full-on marble is a tad too overwhelming for you, consider using similar light-coloured tiles in quieter patterns for your walls and floors to achieve the same large scale textural effect.

Border Lines

For this small bathroom, the designer has added on an interesting dose of drama and elegance by incorporating decorative tiles that flow from the floor to the walls in an artistic way. Strong definitive borders beautifully frame the repetitive motifs to create a focal artpiece in the bathroom. A contemporary pendant lamp provides the perfect functional finishing touch to this monotone space.

TIPS:
In a monotone bathroom, all you need is just a single focal point to create a strong sense of style. The easiest way is to use tiles but it’s best to employ a professional to help you out. Other focal elements can be a unique lamp, a vintage bathtub or even a sculptural piece.

In this master suite, it is important that there are consistent palettes for both the bedroom and see through bathroom. To do so, an off-white theme is used cohesively, punctuated by darker shades of greys in the bedroom, and marble veins in the bathroom.

TIPS:
Like open kitchens, open bathrooms need to blend in with its surrounding spaces. Here’s where you need to be careful with your palettes and choice of materials. A simple rule of thumb is to choose a dominant colour and then pair matching elements in similar shades within these spaces to create visual continuity.

Out Of The Box

Neutral colours along with minimal fittings and furniture work well for this glass-boxed bathroom set right next to the bedroom. The designer opted for creams and beiges instead of pure whites, complemented by dark highlights to define the spaces.

TIPS:
In open bathrooms, glass walls may not provide much visual segregation for different functional areas. Here’s where you can alternate the use of dark and light colours to create visual boundaries between the shower stall, toilet and bathtub area.

Light And Bright

To create this minimalist bathroom, the designers have kept it absolutely clean. The light-coloured walls and floors are washed-out by natural light to give this bathroom a lightweight feeling. To further emphasise the sense of lightness, fittings are kept to a minimal.

TIPS:
Monotone bathrooms with very pale and light palettes require plenty of natural light to bring it to full effect. Ensure your bathroom has large windows that are covered with window treatments that let in sunlight without compromising privacy.
