Who knew you could have an exotic escape amidst the booming city life in Malaysia. Taking diners on a Balinese adventure, Bumbubali in Puchong is the only destination for a sublime Balinese experience in the heart of Malaysia. Replicating authentic Balinese dishes in a warm and relaxing environment, this exquisite bistro is definitely one to tingle and excite all the senses.
Beyond the wood shutters that hide this quaint and cosy bistro away from the busy street is a space radiating with warmth. Inside, intricate finishes and glamorous patterns adorn the space, where gold features beautifully enhance the rich and lush interior. Artistic elements are ornately displayed on walls and surfaces, where every décor piece including the wood furniture, was carefully brought over from Bali itself.
Creating the perfect Balinese experience, the casual and laid-back vibe of the dining area is complemented with soothing traditional Balinese music that gently caresses the ears, transporting diners to an enigmatic world. Aromatic flavours dance in the air, enticing taste buds, preparing diners for a meal that will stimulate every sense.
The extensive menu at Bumbubali caters for everyone. Serving a range of authentic Balinese cuisine, full of fragrant aromatic spices, there is also a selection of fusion Balinese dishes, which combines exotic flavours with unique twists.
Hearty and satisfying, meals are certainly made for those with a generous appetite. Alternatively, they are perfect for sharing too, so diners can explore more of the menu and savour the flavours. A great way to start the Balinese fare is with the Bali Trio, a platter featuring BBQ wings, sate lilit and cumi-cumi goreng. Full of flavour and cooked to perfection, each of the components are complemented with a sauce that enhances the spices and delights the taste buds.
A popular dish on the menu is the Nasi Campur, where this appetising meal is built around perfect fluffy rice, subtly flavoured with sweet potato and coconut. A generous range of seafood including grilled lemongrass prawns, squid and fish is served alongside the rice, which is rich in exotic flavours and spices. For those after something a little different, the pasta options are a tasty and satisfying alternative. Tossed in a special sauce, giving this traditional western dish a Balinese twist, the flavourful pasta is topped with a choice of seafood, chicken or beef.
Dessert is a must here! So make sure you leave room to dig into the Pisang Bakar. Perfect for sharing, bananas are grilled and caramelised to perfection, smothered in more caramel sauce and topped with lashings of ice cream and crunchy peanut brittle. A heavenly sinful dessert! The Es Campur is also worth trying, where this Balinese iced blended dessert is full of exotic flavours and fruit.
As for the drinks, there’s a generous selection to choose from, from refreshing ice blended mixes, signature mocktails, to the infamous coffee. The thirst-quenching Lemongrass Mojito and the Cucumber & Passion Fruit Mojito are both recommended here, and they wonderfully compliment any dish on the menu. If you’re a coffee lover, definitely try the flavoured Latte, with coconut – it’ll treat your taste buds to something different and soothe the soul. For an unusual but tastily refreshing alternate, try the Kopi Apokat, a blended avocado smoothie served with a shot of espresso.
With a huge choice to choose from, you’ll definitely want to escape to Bumbubali again. Grab your family and friends and tuck into a feast that will leave everyone more than satisfied.
