Homes Abroad: Pursuit Of Happiness

Bold and luxurious, dramatic and provocative…these are the adjectives that come to mind immediately when the doors to the luxury villa in Emirate Hills open. Designed by Nikki B Interiors, a boutique design practice based in Dubai, this 5-bedroom dwelling is a perfect representation of the studio’s interior design philosophy.

At 1,391m² , the villa features a coherent concept throughout its main spaces; but for each of the 5 bedrooms, each of them carries its own style, colour contrast, materials, textures and patterns. Interestingly, everything comes together in harmony – a design approach that is unique to Nikki B’s signature style.

To bring out the concept, most of the main pieces including furniture, fixtures and equipment are handpicked by the interior design studio from Brabbu’s best collections.

“From Brabbu, we included the use of the Horus Suspension Light, Agra Dining Table and a Koi Dining Table II,” the brand shares whilst offering further explanation of these pieces: “Horus is a contemporary ceiling light that’s an atmosphere creator, unifying all the ambience’s elements. Handmade in brass, the structure is also copper plated and lacquered in matte black. The shade are made from brass. We also have the Agra dining table which is an impressive display of craftsmanship and elegance. The use of marble combined with brass details makes it a one-of-its-kind design piece. Over here, the Koi Dining Table II is a stand-out dining table for 12 people, an attention-grabbing conversation piece to enhance every dining room.”

In the dining room, the colour palette is dominated by strong yellows and blues which are applied to the front wall, sideboard and chairs.

“Contrasting with the yellows and blues are neutral tones such as white, beige and black from the other walls, curtains and table lamps,” says Nikki B. “The floor has a mirrored effect to visually enlarge the space. We used the Horus Lamp and Koi Dining Table from Brabbu as the central decor pieces – they combine perfectly with one another as well as with the other decor elements.”

For the kitchen, the designer has gone for a more sublime ambience. To create a peaceful, charming and inviting environment, Nikki B has employed the use of white and gold on the ceiling lights, the dining table, chairs and walls. However the floor is kept to a monochrome palette to unite the stronger accents together.

“Brabbu’s Agra Dining Table is used in the kitchen as the key decor element as this is where people gather around sharing the daily stories,” says Nikki B. “Throughout the villa, every room narrates a story told by the pieces that were chosen to compose the ambience. From the entrance hall to all the rooms of this luxury villa, we created an exquisite experience that starts unfolding by itself, providing its inhabitants the best of what can be expected from a high end cosmopolitan lifestyle.”
