We like minimalism and open space layout which gives us the sense of depth and simplicity of space. The feeling of cosiness that we all look for in a home, is easily achieved through soft fabrics and rich textures, as seen in this 850 sq ft, 2-bedroom condo designed by SQFT Space Design Management S/B.

Using modern and minimalist concept, this home, enhanced with delicate and integrating beautiful classic pieces, is turn into a plush and elegant, yet cosy place we call home. And here are some tips of how we can achieve the look.

1. Natural / Cream Shades

Use natural and / or cream shades in an open space layout for heavier and richer fabrics and textures to be incorporated into the space, without diminishing the size of the space or making it appear too heavy and dense, while also creating the feel of luxurious.

2. Mirror

Mirror in interior are often used as a tool to enlarge the feeling of space, but what we didn’t realise, large area of mirror also complement the space and enhance the overall opulence of the open space altogether, while at the same time, putting all elements together to create a whole and complete interior.

3. Storage Issue
Utilise the space with built-in feature such as the TV feature wall in this home. The television wall is made from a polished stone, with a clever shelf display built into this wall, storage is not an issue in this smaller home.

4. Spice up the Space

Instill dynamism and characters into the space using delicate decor and art pieces, creating a funky and quirky feel in the overall interior. For instance, the dining area feature a timber dining table and matching chairs that are upholstered in a retro mustard coloured fabric, enhanced with a stunning light feature, made of a bronze metal body with an exposed circular bulb dangles above the dining table, giving the area a sense of industrial look and distinctive character.

These elements contrasting with the rich ambiance, radiating with its quirkiness.

5. Add Warmth to Space

Adding a soft layer across the space – use a large, textured beige rug spans across the lounge and dining area to create a cosy and warm setting.

Natural elements create a sense of warmth and coziness, while add in layers and richness into the space.
Both bedrooms have a soft yet rich feel. By integrating a mixture of fabrics, that lavish ambiance is depicted whilst the creamy and amber shade adds warmth to the deluxe rooms.
