The beauty of nature inspires the spatial experience of this triple storey semi-D house designed by Metrics Global. Located on the hills of Taman Melawati, amongst lush greenery, this home is fundamentally tropical, achieved using a neutral colour scheme, rich textures and modern timber furniture that are sumptuously simple. On top of that, the extensive use of natural materials, namely stones, marble, and timber, further resonates the feeling of nature indoors. “On the ground floor, the living and dining space is veiled in a majestic 25 feet long shag rug, whereby a solid Raintree slab dining table rests above it,” explain Chua Ji Haw and Leong Wei Theng, the interior designers from Metrics Global. “To immerse guests in an experience similar to dining in the woods, we designed a feature wall that takes on an organic form with leafy vein motifs.” The main living spaces lead to the dry kitchen which features horizontally lined marble-like walls that fill the space with hints of modest luxury. Additionally, a Black Marquina marble counter acts as a breakfast table or simply a preparation area for baking.
Moving to the top floor, the master bedroom is divided into two halves – the bed chamber and the study room. Between them is a series of full height folding louvre panels that further elaborate the resort-inspired feeling.

For other bedrooms, the first one is designed for a younger occupant, featuring stylish monochromatic palette and a notably trendy-looking rug.

On the contrary, the second bedroom emphasizes an unconventional approach of creating a walk-in wardrobe experience even within a limited space, showcasing the versatile potential of the room.

For the guest room, the designers employed a simple tropical design, with a long timber desk facing the window, and a wardrobe with rhythmic vertical components that work as handles.
