At Home With Michelle

It’s certainly no surprise that this sport lover is the host of Football Overload. Showing us around her new modern condominium in K.L, we catch up with the very friendly and lovely Michelle Lee, who talks about her career and her gorgeous new home, which she describes as “modern Scandinavian with chic elements that conveys my personality”.

Creative Home: So Michelle, how does it feel living in your first new home?
Michelle: I moved here almost a year ago now. I’m starting to settle into well though. Normally, everyday my schedule is hectic – work and sport – but I remember waking up one morning and sitting in this chair by the island and just thinking, “yes, this is my home!” It was rather strange but really exciting. It’s great though, as you can do what you want with the place and design it to your own taste.

CH: Do you have a favourite part in your home?
M: It’s definitely the kitchen. This place is the centre of all activities and the main spot when I entertain. I wanted to make sure I had a space that could reflect life, so I got Total Wood to create this beautiful kitchen surface from top quality wood, which just adds so much more character to my home. It’s also super easy to maintain.

CH: So you use the kitchen a lot?
M: Yes! I love to cook. I wanted a kitchen that was big and convenient, and so Alustil helped me out to create this kitchen with amazing customisable cabinets. What’s even more impressive is the fact that they fitted this whole kitchen in 1 day! The combination of Alustil cabinets and Total Wood surfaces is perfect for me.

CH: What about a favourite spot to chill and relax?
M: My favourite spot to relax is my dining island. From work to dinners, this is where everything happens. I love sitting on my More Design bar stools and just checking out the city skyline, because from this spot, you can see KL City and at night, it’s pretty spectacular.

CH: You’ve managed to personalise the space really well, especially around this dining island.
M: Yes! Thanks to Nu Infinity they really put my personality into the space. This board by my island is absolutely perfect to display my favourite things. I can easily change things up. Also my feature wall in my living area is inspired by a football net, so I feel like more of personality definitely comes through.

CH: Your furniture is beautiful – tell us more about this.
M: It is super chic! And it was all ordered online from More Design! It couldn’t have been any easier. My favourite piece of furniture is the sofa for sure though. As I love having friends round, I wanted a sofa that was spacious enough and also cosy and this sofa from More Design is absolutely perfect.

CH: And what about the style in your bedroom?
M: My bedroom is definitely my personal space. Nu Infinity designed it and it’s simple and chic, reflecting my character. I particularly love the headboard in my room – it’s customised by Total Wood, and in the shape of my initial – so it’s a subtle design but cool. But the coolest part of my bedroom is my walk-in wardrobe! It was completely customised by Alustil, made especially for me and I love it!

CH: Well thanks Michelle for showing us your new home!
M: Anytime! And a huge thanks to Nu Infinity for designing it and Totally Wood, Alustil and More Design filling it with beautiful pieces.
