Dulux’s Tips On Going Grey!

Over the years, the colour grey has gained some serious popularity in the home décor world. The colour which people used to see as dull and boring, is now one of the most admired neutral tones used in interior design. And why wouldn’t it be! Grey surprisingly pairs wells with pretty much every colour and can radically transform spaces.

With the grey status rising, Dulux has selected six shades to go with each palette from the Dulux Colours of the World range. Each palette beautifully reflects and highlights different countries inspired by the world’s most beautiful places.

So how can grey be used? Grey can be industrialised, romantic or daringly modern. It can create a serene and sophisticated effect and is easy to accessorise. Lighter shades of grey are deemed to feel more feminine, while darker shades project a more masculine effect.

Here are a few tips from Dulux on how to go grey:dulux-tips-grey-1
Grey & Colour: Grey can be pair with any unexpected colour. From citrus yellow, orange, purple, pink and white or black, the key to maintain consistency is to work within the colour temperature i.e, cool or warm.

Contrast Grey: For visual depth and dimension, opt for contrast over matching greys. Patterns can help to add flavours too.

Look Up: Why not go for a light grey tone on your ceiling instead of plain white. You’ll be surprised at how a splash of grey on the ceiling can bring warmth to a room.

Sophistication:  For a simple sophisticated look pair grey walls with wooden furniture such as a coffee table or chairs.
