Rumah Melaka was built on an area of 5 acres at Bukit Katil, Melaka which features an old Malay traditional timber house in Malacca with stone steps into the identity and uniqueness of the state house in Melaka. Rumah Melaka was built with the aim to increase awareness and understanding of the specifier, architects, engineers, interior designers, landscape architects and students as well as the public on the importance of timber and its contributions to the socio-economic in Malaysia. It will also showcase the development of the Malaysian timber industry over the years and which will attract national tourism. Rumah Melaka provided exhibition space and products exhibits will always be renewed from time to time to keep abreast with the current development of the Malaysian timber industry.
