Palette Play
A soothing palette comprising wood tones and dusky grey beings out a sense of tranquility in this large bedroom. The interior tones are further expanded to the adjacent study and wardrobe area to create uniformity within the different zones.
TIPS: In a large bedroom with different functional areas, the use of colours can successfully tie them together in a coherent manner. However, it’s wise to stick to a neutral backdrop highlighted by only one or two bolder hues to avoid overwhelming the space with too many colours.

Extensive Effect
The long narrow space in this bedroom features different zones segregated using only visual boundaries: different textures and materials along with grouping similar functional elements together – a clever way to maintain a clean and minimalist style throughout the room.
TIPS: At times, we may end up with too many things going on in a large bedroom. To keep it simple, consider using more subtle ways if demarcating your different zones. For instance, different floor textures or different ceiling heights punctuated with pendant lamps to ‘group’ the elements below them.

Dynamic Elegance
The use of custom-made furniture and shelving system effectively sections out the home office from the bedroom space, offering the owner of this home a sense of individual space within each area. The wardrobe which stretches across the room has also been affixed with mirror surfaces to visually open up the room.
TIPS: In bigger bedrooms, too many standalone pieces of furniture may not work very well – your room may end up looking scattered and disjointed. Here’s where it’s worth considering built-in or custom-made furniture tailored specifically for your spaces. This way, you can ensure that the materials and textures blend in with the rest of the elements in the room.

Smart Contrast
To ensure the ensuite master bathroom complements this bedroom yet stands apart from it, cool and warm materials and tones have been used to achieve these two goals simultaneously. In the bedroom, warm lush textures in cool shades of grey are used while in the bathroom, the cool surfaces of marble take on a elegant palette of warm tones.
TIPS: Ensuite master bathrooms are a blessing in large bedrooms. This said however, the right kind of design must be employed. Pay attention to how it feels to step into the bathroom from the bedroom and vice versa. A pleasant transitional effect can usually be created through using the right materials and lighting features.
