Bespoke spaces. Plush, elegant, warm furnishing. Paris-based interior designer Stephanie Coutas’s newly renovated home is the perfect epitome of her unique contemporary style that captures a touch of neoclassical ambience fused with beautiful workmanship and romanticism.
Situated opposite the Place des Etats Unis, a 2 minute walk from the famous avenue Montaigne and Champs Elysees, Stephanie’s home speaks volume of her personal style and the things she loves. The renovation has taken 18 months of hard work, with the aim to highlight her impressive and extensive art collection that she has accumulated through the years. Throughout the project, Stephanie’s “savoir faire” comes to show with plenty of luxurious details, while maintaining a settled and contemporary feeling. The result is a warm and cosy yet spectacular interior with materials and finishes that exude classic elegance. Tones of black and white with bronze and brass finishes take the lead, complemented by soft textures and artistic details.
Stéphanie Coutas emphasises quality craftsmanship and savoir-faire in her designs. She subtly fuses her love of beautiful workmanship and romanticism to create neoclassical and contemporary interiors imbued with modern magic.
Starting from the entrance, white opal with brass inserts was incorporated to the motif of the ceiling going through the reception hall. This space features a combination of classic moulding styles, revisited through a modern pattern to give the home a new sense to the place. The main idea was to create a fluid, spacious hallway that merged with the reception, creating the sense of an art gallery.“The starting point of the ceiling design was my new chandelier, “PARIS” edited by Baccarat,” Stephanie says. “From the first circle, I started designing the rest of the pattern. The second inspiration was my crush on a fantastic young artist called “The Kid”. I gave him ‘carte blanche’; but he then came back to me with these 2 gigantic portraits, I loved them so much, I immediately wanted to create a curved wall with backlight to have a floating effect and give the impression they were facing each other”.
Like most of Stephanie’s design, this home brings feelings of comfort and peace to the soul. All the bedrooms are ensuites come complete with the luxuries of 5-star palaces such as mini bars, high quality beds and linen along with Mr and Mrs separate bathrooms and dressing areas.
For the rest of the house, the spaces are imbued with the signature touches that the SC Edition Agency, Stephanie’s interior design firm, use throughout their various projects worldwide: a lot of built in cabinets made of luxurious materials, leather, silk, wood, velvet, marble, bronze as well as semi-precious stones.
